CATTLE WRANGLING with Mike

We spent the whole week in New York glued to the weather channel. It was not looking good as Dallas was predicting ice storms and record lows for the bachelor party weekend in February.

We landed at DFW and I wish I could say that we stepped off the plane into 80 degree heat, but for once the weatherman was right and it was cold as……it was cold. We caught the ABP shuttle to the Embassy and had a few drinks before taking off for a private steak dinner. Steaks all around, along with Cuervo and Beam, followed by a night scene that kept us out until 5am

Later that afternoon we saddled up on our horses and headed over the hills to mix with the cattle. About 1 hour into the drive, it was so cold there was actually a concern of hypothermia so we headed back to the stable. Riding our personal golf carts, we toured the western towns and engaged in a little game of tag. Long story short, the carts lost the battle with a building. If you saw “Jackass” the movie, you know what I am talking about.

We spent the evening huddled up indoors at the spa, and after breakfast shot some clay pigeons off the back of the ranch. Tony, the groom, was about as good at skeet as he was at driving a cart. We cleaned up and headed back to Dallas for our flights.

Although the weather cut our trip short, the guide at ABP worked overtime to make sure we had a good time, which was the key since all of us were coming from separate parts of the country, and rarely have time to spend together.

Thanks again,

Mike,
