WHITEWATER RAFTING

Big city excitement and small town charm combine to make Portland a one-of-a-kind American city.  With the Willamette and Columbia rivers running through its lush greenery,

Portland is a rare and beautiful urban setting. Portland is known for its great jazz bars and dance clubs.  One of our favorites is Greek Cusina where you can dance with belly dancers, smash plates, and imbibe Ouzo until 3 am.

After you experience the exciting Portland nightlife, strap on your helmet, and roll down the rapids of the Deschutes. With the melting glaciers and the immense aquifers feeding into the river, the Deschutes bubbles all season long.  Heavily forested gorges line the gin-clear river.  See if rapids named Corkscrew and Highway Hole are true to their names on this unique northwestern adventure.

 

 

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1

2:00pm - 7:00pm -  Check into a hotel in the center of downtown Portland and get the weekend started with happy hour.  A 10-minute tram ride gets you from the airport to the hotel.

7:00pm - 10:00pm - Adventure Bachelor Party takes everyone to a fine dining experience at an upscale Irish Pub.  Famous for amassing the Northwest's largest selection of single malt Scotch and Irish whiskies, this place aims to please.  If you're not a whiskey drinker, choose from wide selection of microbrews and imported beers to go along with your delicious three course meal.

10:30pm - 11:30pm - Head across the street to grab a few cocktails at Saucebox, a gathering place for the modern lifestyle culture, before turning Portland upside down.

11:30pm - 2:00am - Off to one of the hottest night clubs in town where you can drink up and get down.  Be sure to stay on the lookout for celebrities as you get your groove on.

2:00am - 3:00am - Hang out with a man who dances with a table in his teeth or just cut a rug with some of the belly dancers at Greek Cusina.  Make sure to smash some plates on your way out.  Opa!

Day 2

8:00am - 9:00am - After wolfing down on made-to-order breakfast, the shuttle takes you to the rafting base camp where you meet the guides and learn the basics.

10:00am - 4:00pm - Raft all day through rapids with names like Shark's Fin, Corkscrew Falls, and Waterspout. Halfway down the river, stop for a quick buffet-style lunch.

4:00pm - 7:00pm - Settle down for a feast with champagne toasts along the river.

7:00pm - 2:00am - Pass out in the lodge or sit on the porch next to the fire and share stories with the guys after a great day of rafting.

 

Day 3

8:00am - 9:00am - Meet the shuttle outside the campgrounds and enjoy a scenic ride back to Portland for your chosen methods of departure after a weekend to remember.
