WHITEWATER RAFTING
Greenfield, Massachusetts
Most people opt to make the
drive over to Greenfield (2 hours) from Boston the night before, so I
will not write about the glories of Boston. Western Massachusetts was
made for outdoor activities and sports. The Berkshire Mountains is the
ideal rural landscapes, making camping and hiking readily available.
The Deerfield River Monroe
Bridge section offers continuous whitewater action. Flowing through a
narrow gorge, this whitewater rafting run is full of holes, big waves,
great surfing and technical rapids. The whitewater grows in intensity
throughout the day. The Deerfield River Dryway offers a challenging day
of whitewater rafting in Massachusetts, even the most experienced
rafters.
